An excerpt from the press release below reveals more details, and at the bottom of the page is a rather terrific trailer, which gets the hype train up and running rather nicely. We're rather excited by this news here at Nintendo Life Towers, and it's nice to get concrete details on much of what we've gleaned from Japanese trailers and coverage. Capcom's press release only confirms a download release, once again showing the potential of the eShop to make localised titles less of a financial risk for publishers. Rather delightfully, Capcom has now confirmed just that, with a Fall/Autumn arrival on the 3DS eShop in North America and Europe, with a fresh name - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies. In recent times we've been picking up plenty of information from Japan on Ace Attorney 5, while doing little to hide the fact that we were anxious for news of Western localisation. ![]() We will be confirming details on the price point soon so please stay tuned for more information on the latest in the Ace Attorney series. We understand that this decision may upset fans who wanted to have a physical version of the title to add to their collection but we believe this direction is the best to take to ensure that fans are able to enjoy the game at their own leisure. With that in mind we have opted for a digital only release via the Nintendo 3DS eShop. With the release of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies we wanted as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the game for as long as possible. Historically it’s been tough to attract long term retail support for Ace Attorney titles. With this release being download only, Capcom has issued a statement to Kotaku to acknowledge the disappointment around the web, and to explain its reasoning:
